1. Orange peel

Orange peel, rich in vitamin C, helps brighten skin, reduce black spots and promote collagen synthesis for youthful skin. The natural acids in orange peel exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells, clear clogged pores and give you a glowing complexion.

2. Lemon zest

The citric acid present in lemon peel helps lighten dark spots, even out skin tone and remove excess oil. Citric acid is more like a natural bleach, so it reduces skin pigmentation and improves overall skin texture.

3. Papaya peel

Papaya peel contains enzymes like papain that remove dead skin cells and leave skin smoother and more radiant, says Dr. Mittal. Papain promotes a smoother, more radiant complexion by breaking down inactive proteins and removing dead skin cells.

4. Banana peel

The antioxidants, vitamins and minerals found in banana peel help hydrate the skin, reduce inflammation and promote a healthy glow. Lutein, a peel ingredient, hydrates and nourishes the skin, giving it a youthful appearance.

5. Apple peel

The antioxidants and vitamin C contained in apple peel help renew the skin and maintain its elasticity. Antioxidants fight free radicals, minimizing the symptoms of aging and producing a youthful, glowing complexion.
