And if there is additional friction, it leads to the appearance of frizz. So, prolonged use of caps, hats, jacket hoods, which also cause more friction and actually increase frizz!
In addition to this, there are many hair treatments such as bleaching, perming, and other relaxing treatments that can also cause frizz in the hair. “Hair becomes weak, brittle, cuticles are damaged and the risk of frizz increases,” says Dr. Puri.
Does frizzy hair mean unhealthy hair?
Hair frizz does not mean that your hair is unhealthy and needs to be treated. Dr. Puri says that frizzy hair in no way indicates hair health and it can happen to any hair type. “Frizzy hair doesn’t always mean the hair is unhealthy. Frizz can also appear on healthy hair due to rubbing, friction or loss of moisture, or when the weather is extremely dry or extremely humid,” says Dr. Suruchi Puri.
5 tips to avoid frizzy hair in winter
Although it may seem impossible to control frizz, there are actually many ways to prevent your hair from becoming frizzy. Apart from home remedies to tame frizzy hair, try these to solve the problem at the root!
1. Regular Haircut:
Getting out those split ends is always a win-win situation. Very often, these split ends are also found in the upper part of the hair, causing frizz.Coat your hair: Coating your hair with oil is a great way to repel water. Coconut oil, olive oil, and almond oil are some of the best options that one can use to get rid of frizz. Coconut oil has a smaller molecular size and penetrates the hair and prevents protein moisture loss.

3. Eat a diet rich in protein and omega 3 fatty acids
