Get rid of facial hair naturally: 5 home remedies

It’s not just men, women also have to deal with facial hair. Some women have thicker facial hair, which is why they shave, tweeze, or wax. If you are willing to spend a little more, you can also try laser treatment. But if you don’t like going to salons or clinics frequently and you believe in everything natural, you should try home remedies to get rid of facial hair.

What causes facial hair in women?

The most common cause of facial hair in women is due to hormonal imbalance caused by medical conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, says Dr. Blossom Kochhar, president of the Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies. Hirsutism
causes excessive hair growth. Genetics also plays an important role in determining the growth pattern of hair on a person’s body and face. Certain types of medications like steroids can be another factor that can cause facial hair problems in women.

Ways to Remove Facial Hair Naturally

The good news is that you can rely on kitchen ingredients to get rid of facial hair. Here are some options:

1. Sugar and lemon juice

You need to mix two tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice with 35 ml of water. Heat the mixture until it begins to boil. Then let it cool. Apply it to the affected areas and leave it on for 20 to 25 minutes. Wash it off with water, rubbing in circular motions, suggests Dr. Kochhar.

2. Lemon and honey

Start by mixing one tablespoon of honey, two tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice. Heat the mixture for about three minutes and slowly stir the water to make it thinner if it is too thick. Once the paste has cooled, apply it to the affected areas. It’s like natural wax, so use a wax strip and pluck the hair in the opposite direction of growth.

3. Egg white and rice flour

In a bowl, take one egg white, one tablespoon of sugar and half a teaspoon of rice flour. Mix them well to create a thick paste, apply it to the areas with unwanted hair on the face and then let it dry for about 20 to 30 minutes. Gently peel off the dried mask in the opposite direction of hair growth then rinse with water.

4. Oatmeal and banana

Mix two tablespoons of oatmeal, which is an effective natural exfoliant, with a ripe banana, and apply this paste on the affected areas using circular motions. Continue massaging for 15 minutes and gently wash face with water.

5. Papaya and turmeric

Papaya contains an enzyme called papain, which can help break down hair follicles and inhibit hair growth, the expert explains. To make a paste of papaya and turmeric, mix the papaya pulp with a pinch of turmeric powder and apply it to the face. Massage it for 15 to 20 minutes then rinse with water.

• After shaving, cleanse your skin with a mild cleanser. Do not use cleansers or facial cleansers with harsh chemicals or alcohol.
• Rinse your face with cold water then pat dry, but do not scrub your skin.
• Apply a nourishing moisturizer suitable for your skin and avoid any skincare products that may have a fragrance to avoid irritation.
• Use sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from damage caused by UV rays.
