Hudterapeuten, 36 år, avslöjar saker som hon önskar att hon hade börjat använda på sin hud TIDIGARE i sina 20-tal – och varför hon ångrar att hon började använda Botox vid 25 års ålder.

As a licensed esthetician, I have spent years studying and working with various skincare treatments and products. Over the years, I have come to realize that our skin requires proper care and attention from an early age in order to maintain its youthful appearance. Unfortunately, like many people, I made some skincare mistakes in my 20s that I now wish I had avoided. Additionally, I made a decision to begin Botox treatments at the age of 25, which I now regret. In this article, I will share my personal experiences and insights in the hopes of helping others make more informed choices when it comes to their skincare routines.

When I was in my 20s, I can honestly say that I didn’t give much thought to my skincare routine. I would often fall asleep with my makeup on, use harsh exfoliants, and neglect to moisturize regularly. Looking back, I wish I had started using high-quality skincare products at an earlier age. I now understand the importance of investing in good skincare products that are tailored to my specific skin type and concerns. This includes cleansers, serums, moisturizers, and sunscreen. By implementing a consistent skincare routine, I believe I could have prevented some of the signs of aging that I now see in my skin.

One of the skincare products that I wish I had started using in my 20s is retinol. Retinol is a form of vitamin A that has been proven to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and skin texture. It can also help to unclog pores and reduce acne breakouts. In addition, retinol stimulates collagen production, which can help to prevent the formation of wrinkles and sagging skin. Unfortunately, I did not start using retinol until later in life, and I believe that I missed out on some of its potential anti-aging benefits.

Another skincare product that I regret not using in my 20s is a vitamin C serum. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can help to protect the skin from free radical damage caused by environmental factors such as pollution and UV radiation. It also helps to brighten the skin, improve the appearance of dark spots, and stimulate collagen production. I now understand the importance of incorporating a vitamin C serum into my skincare routine, and I wish I had started using it sooner to help maintain a youthful and radiant complexion.

In addition to skincare products, I also wish I had started incorporating regular facials into my skincare routine in my 20s. Professional facials can help to deep clean the skin, exfoliate dead skin cells, and promote healthy skin cell turnover. They can also target specific skin concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, and aging. By regularly receiving facials from a licensed esthetician, I believe that I could have better maintained the overall health and appearance of my skin.

While I have made some mistakes with my skincare routine in my 20s, I also made a decision that I now regret: starting Botox treatments at the age of 25. At the time, I was concerned about the fine lines and wrinkles that were starting to appear on my forehead and around my eyes. I was influenced by societal pressure to maintain a youthful appearance and decided to undergo Botox injections to smooth out these lines. Looking back, I wish I had taken a more natural approach to aging and focused on preventive skincare measures rather than turning to injectable treatments at such a young age.

Botox is a neurotoxin that works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles to form. While it can be an effective treatment for reducing the appearance of wrinkles, it is not without risks and potential side effects. Over time, Botox can lead to muscle atrophy and a loss of facial expression, which can result in a frozen or unnatural appearance. In addition, there is also the risk of adverse reactions and complications from the injections themselves.

Furthermore, starting Botox at a young age can lead to a dependence on the treatments and a distorted perception of natural aging. In my experience, I have seen many clients who started Botox at a young age and now find themselves in a cycle of frequent injections in order to maintain their desired appearance. I now believe that embracing and accepting the natural process of aging is a healthier and more fulfilling approach to skincare.

In conclusion, as a licensed esthetician, I have learned from my own experiences and made mistakes in my 20s that I now regret. I wish I had started using high-quality skincare products such as retinol and vitamin C serums earlier, as well as incorporating regular facials into my skincare routine. Additionally, I regret starting Botox treatments at the age of 25 and wish I had taken a more natural and preventive approach to aging. I hope that by sharing my insights, others can make more informed decisions about their skincare routines and embrace a healthier and more balanced approach to aging.
